At Your Mortgage People, we’re all about helping customers afford their homes – and homes build communities.
After the challenges of the last few years our local communities have felt the sharp end of the social, economic and mental health impacts of COVID-19 and the lockdowns that followed.
As a local business and large employer, we believe it is now more important than ever to support our communities – which is why we are backing more charities, good causes and local organisations than ever before.
We’re supporting a range of important causes both near our offices in Segensworth, Hampshire and further afield across the UK.
Information on how we have helped others is below, but we’re just getting started.
If you run, or know of, a charity which could benefit from our support let us know using the form below.
Ways we can help include:
We’re always looking for new and urgent demands from local organisations where we can help. One such example was from Friends of the Homeless in Fareham & Gosport – a charity which runs the Fareham & Gosport Basics Bank. When we spotted a Facebook post from the charity asking for help in supplying longlife milk, we were happy to answer the call and provide the funding they needed to purchase supplies.
Sadly, the charity has never been busier in providing support packages for those in need. With goods including both fresh and tinned food, toiletries and cleaning products these packages really make a difference to those who are referred to the Basics Bank in times of crisis, and Your Mortgage People were fortunate enough to visit the charity and see their fantastic work first hand.
We were also delighted to recently provide the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity with the funding they needed to supply equipment for the parent rooms at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
When newborns need urgent care and are staying in hospital for long periods the strain on their parents can be huge, with some having to leave them each night or stay in nearby hotels. The parent rooms in the NICU ward give families the chance to stay close together in the same place whilst having the peace of mind that expert care of hospital staff is always nearby.
With our donation the charity kitted out the parent kitchen with a brand new microwave, as well as buying multiple storage boxes which would house fresh bedding for the parent rooms.
As well as our efforts as a business, our staff members can regularly be found raising money for causes close to their hearts and to support their local communities.
